  • The Gluten Free R.D!

As a registered dietitian and celiac, I am so excited to help people embrace a gluten free lifestyle.

App Update.

Hi all, we have realized that the update we planned to release still contains a few glitches stemming from the database we work with. For this reason, I feel it is still not safe to use. The app has been taken off the market while we fix this issue. Once it is updated please give us one more try before “throwing the baby out with the bathwater.” You will love it once it is fixed and it will work wonderfully! You have my word. With all this said, it is going to take time, so please be patient and know that a great gluten free shopping scanner app is on its way.

We are so sorry for any inconvenience. Please know that helping the gluten free community is at the heart of this project.

Gluten Free Shopping Scanner

Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my site. I recently launched my first I-phone app, The Gluten Free Shopping Scanner. First, I’d like to share with you why I created this app.In a nutshell, my goal was to help people, plain and simple. I struggled for 18 years with undiagnosed celiac disease, and then struggled another few years trying to figure out the gluten free diet. I’ve been gluten free for 9 years now, and just wanted to share what I have learned with others. I hoped to create a tool that would make shopping and life easier for those that have celiac disease or gluten sensitivity.

For those of you who don’t know me, I am a perfectionist, so it is with regret that I have to tell you that we are currently experiencing some database problems with the app. Believe me, I am EQUALLY as frustrated as you are (actually more frustrated!!!). We are in the process of fixing those problems and are trying to get them fixed as soon as possible. Please be patient with me, I promise it will be worth it. Feel free to shoot me a support email. I will listen to your concerns and will respond.Thank you for your patience. Sincerely, Lacy

Summer Skin Care! Guest Blog Post from Eat.Live.Make.

I absolutely love this month’s guest blog post on gluten free summer skin care from Eat.Live.Make.  Enjoy!

Hello all you sun lovers! There is nothing more important than taking care of your skin during the summer months, and wearing sunscreen while your in the sun. Overexposure to sun can lead to wrinkles, moles, and (yikes) skin cancer.

It’s extremely hard to find sunscreen without all of those harsh chemicals in it, and even harder to find sunscreen that is gluten free and vegan.

But don’t fret, because Desert Essence Organics has just what you need. Their line of skin care moisturizers and sunscreen is affordable, organic, gluten free and free of all animal products. I have personally been using their products since I had to make the switch to gluten free body care, and love their results.

Another great way to take care of your skin during the summer is to scrub it once a week with an exfoliant. No need to purchase anything, you most likely have everything you need in your kitchen to make a gluten free product you can use year round! Just make sure not to over-exfoliate, it can lead to skin damage.

What You’ll Need:
1/2 cup organic sugar
1/2 cup organic sea salt
10 drops lavender essential oil
1/4 cup grape seed oil
What You’ll Do:
Mix everything together!

 Happy sun bathing!
